Are you struggling to join Fairytales or having some connection issues? Please read through this guide. If you are still struggling, please do not hesitate to reach out to the staff team!

Please open a support ticket if you have any connection issues. Issues with connection should not be discussed in the main chats for various reasons.

Common Connection Issues:

The IP address isn't working!

Make sure you are physically typing out the IP address instead of copy and pasting it as copy/paste can produce blank characters, resulting in the incorrect IP/server address being entered.

I can't join on Bedrock Edition!

Errors when trying to join

"Unable to connect to server" or "Unable to connect to world"

  1. Check if you've entered the correct IP (and port).

  2. Restart your Minecraft.

  3. Restart your internet.

  4. Check if your Minecraft is on the right version! For our server, you need to be on 1.19+ for Java Edition and on the latest version on Bedrock Edition.

  5. If you are on Bedrock Edition, ensure that you are signed into your Xbox/Microsoft account on Minecraft. If you are log out and log back in.

  6. Disable any firewall, anti-virus or VPN.

"Unknown host"

  1. Ensure that you are not using a cracked version of Minecraft, like T-Launcher.

  2. Try to join on play.fairy-tales.uk instead.

  3. Restart your Minecraft and internet.

  4. Disable any firewall, anti-virus or VPN.

"Failed to log in: null"

  1. Make sure you are trying to join on 1.19 or above. (Java Edition)

  2. Restart your Minecraft.

  3. Check your internet connection.

"Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.timeout.ReadTimeoutException"

  1. Ensure that you are trying to join on 1.19 or above. (Java Edition)

  2. Check your internet connection.

  3. Ensure that your device is powerful enough to run Minecraft.

"Outdated client"

Your client is outdated, update it to at least 1.19 for Java Edition, and the latest version for Bedrock Edition.

"Took too long to log in"

  1. Check your internet connection.

  2. Restart Minecraft.

"Not authenticated with minecraft.net"

  1. Ensure that you are not playing on a cracked client like T-Launcher. (This isn't allowed, you will not be able to join)

  2. Log out of your Xbox/Microsoft account in your launcher and log back in.

"Failed to log in: Invalid session (try restarting your game)"

  1. Ensure that you are not playing on a cracked client like T-Launcher. (This isn't allowed, you will not be able to join)

  2. Exit the game, log out of your account and close the launcher.

  3. Reopen your launcher, log back in and attempt to rejoin the server.
